Aquaman 2: Asia most successful market

Aquaman, the latest DC film, earned $38.3m over the four-day holiday weekend, falling short of its forecast of $40m. The film was more successful abroad and grossed around $120 million worldwide. This puts it ahead of Black Adam, The Flash and The Marvels.

Aquaman 2 performed best overall in Asia, where it was the top Hollywood film in every market. In Singapore, it recorded the biggest WB opening weekend of 2023, and in Malaysia and Indonesia, it was the second biggest opening for a WB film this year. In Taiwan, it was the biggest opening weekend for a superhero film in 2023.

In Latin America, the blockbuster was also the No. 1 Hollywood title in all markets.
