Barbie presents first blind Barbie and Black Barbie with Down syndrome

Mattel presented the new Barbie Fashionistas: A Blind Barbie and a Black Barbie with Down syndrome. Through these new dolls, even more children can find a Barbie that represents themselves and tell their own stories with her.

"We know that Barbie is much more than just a doll. She represents self-expression and can provide a sense of belonging," said Krista Berger, Senior Vice President of Barbie and Global Head of Dolls. "We are proud to introduce the new blind Barbie doll and Black Barbie doll with Down syndrome to our Barbie Fashionistas line to underscore our commitment to global belonging and inclusivity on the doll shelf."

The blind Barbie doll was developed in collaboration with the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB). This organization is committed to providing endless opportunities for people with visual impairments and disabilities. The aim was to make the doll authentic in all aspects - from the facial structure to the clothing and packaging
