Bill Hader to star as cat in "The Cat in the Hat Film“

Warner Bros. has released more information about the planned animated film The Cat in the Hat - based on the popular fairy tale by Dr. Seuss. 

In addition to the theatrical release date, which is scheduled for March 6, 2026, the cast of the film has also been announced for the first time. Bill Hader will play the lead role of the cat, alongside colleagues including Quinta Brunson, Bowen Yang and Xochitl Gomez.

Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja are writing and directing the film, with Daniela Mazzucato and Jared Stern producing. Susan Brandt, president and CEO of Dr. Seuss Enterprises, and Hader will executive produce. DNEG Animation will serve as animation studio partner.

The book "The Cat in the Hat" by Dr. Seuss was published in 1957 and has become an everlasting classic for generations of children.

The film is the first in a series of animated projects planned jointly by Warner Animation and Dr. Seuss Enterprises.
