39 percent sales growth for tonies

According to tonies SE, sales increased by around 39 percent to around 358 million euros in the 2023 financial year. The main sales driver was international expansion, particularly in the US market.

Jan Middelhoff, CFO, says: ""We can look back on a fantastic fourth quarter. A turnover of more than 160 million euros is a clear sign that our strategy is working and that all sales channels have made their contribution as expected."

tonies financial year 2023 at a glance:

• Turnover increased by +39% to around EUR 358 million (2022: EUR 258 million)

• The sales forecast for 2023 was exceeded by four million euros

• In the USA, tonies generated sales of around 138 million euros and significantly exceeded its sales forecast of 116 million euros

• Sales in the DACH market rose by 4 percent to 165 million euros.

• In the rest of the world, sales rose by 60 percent to 55 million euros.

• In the fourth quarter alone, the company generated around 166 million euros during the Christmas period and commercial events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday as well as the expansion with Walmart and Target.

• In the DACH region, sales fell by -6 percent in the fourth quarter.

The company expects the adjusted EBITDA margin to improve significantly and become positive in 2023. tonies will publish the final audited figures and the forecast for the full year 2024 on April 11.
