Disney plans to sell its India business to Reliance

Disney is reportedly looking to sell its India business to Reliance, a Mumbai-based multinational.

According to the report, the two media giants are close to finalizing a billion-dollar sale that could be announced in November.

According to a new Bloomberg report, the Mukesh Ambani-led company has valued the relevant assets at $7 billion to $8 billion. This would bring the total value of Disney India to around US$10 billion.

Back in the summer, it was reported that Disney was looking to either sell its Indian division or find a joint venture partner. This coincided with CEO Bob Iger's statement in July that Disney was rethinking its linear strategy and might be open to selling TV assets, such as ABC.
