EU wants an annual European Children's Capital

A resolution of the European Parliament calls for a European Children's Capital to be named every year in future.

The vision

The goal is the future of a united Europe. The exchange of the people who are the future: Children in Europe. In order to give Europe a friendly and peaceful face every year and to unite all European countries without exception, a European Children's Capital is to be named every year. This should give children a voice and also draw attention to their rights.

Criterias

The criteria for awarding the title could be commitment to children's policy, equal opportunities, access to high-quality education and social inclusion.

In which direction is this continent developing? We expect answers from the "Conference on the Future of Europe", among other things. And these answers will affect our children more than anyone else. The future of Europe will be decided in the minds of the people - in the minds of our children.

Europe’s diversity as great opportunity

Only if young people are taught to counter narrow-mindedness with an appreciation of Europe's diversity, only if they grow up with different customs, cultures and languages, only if they themselves experience a united Europe with values such as peace, respect, solidarity and tolerance, only if they themselves experience that diversity is not a danger but a great opportunity.
