Global expansion: Minecraft expands licensing and retail partners
Minecraft has announced that the popular franchise is looking to grow globally with new licensing and retail partners, new product categories and new entertainment offerings.
Globally, Minecraft has signed new licensing partnerships to expand the brand's reach, including PMI and OTL (European and Latin American partner for headphones, speakers and electronics). Through its partners Air-Val and H&A, the company is further expanding the health and beauty category in Europe. Other new European partners include Toytopic (plush at Primark), Millmead (optics) and Pyramid (wall art).
In Latin America, the brand is further expanding its consumer goods program, and Minecraft products will soon be launched in Japan.
The following activities are planned, among others:
- A new live-action movie. In collaboration with Warner Bros. Mojang is working on a comprehensive global licensing and advertising program that will start with the release of the film (2025)
- A new CGI-animated series in collaboration with Netflix.
- An immersive, location-based experience in Dallas on Oct. 19: “Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue,” with plans to expand across the U.S. and tour globally, including Europe.
