Hollywood: the strike is over

The strike is over. On Wednesday, Hollywood actors reached a tentative agreement with the major studios to end the second of two strikes that have rocked the entertainment industry.

Agreement with the big companies and studios

The SAG-AFTRA union said in a statement that the 118-day walkout ended shortly after midnight after the negotiating committee voted unanimously in favor of the agreement with Walt Disney, Netflix and other companies.

A deal worth more than 1 billion dollars

The three-year deal, worth more than $1 billion, includes increases in minimum salaries and a new bonus paid by streaming services, according to the union.

The agreement also grants protection against the unauthorized use of images generated by artificial intelligence (AI), an area of great concern among artists who feared being replaced by "digital doppelgangers."
