Nickelodeon: new artists for annual join-in program

Nickelodeon has selected six participants for its annual artist program that supports emerging artists.

For six months, the group of 6 artists will work with creative mentors and hone their artistic skills and production know-how through workshops and hands-on experience at Nickelodeon's animation studio in Burbank. The Nick Artist Program is designed to kick-start the journey of career-ready artists!

These are this year's participants:

Trinity Akins, an art teacher from Michigan that graduated from Michigan’s College for Creative Studies with a dedication for cartoons and visual storytelling.

Kelly Copeland from San Antonio, Texas, specialized in Computer Graphics and 3D art with a Master’s degree in visualization from Texas A&M University.

Brian Duran, a half-Salvadoran and half-Taiwanese Visual Development artist from Pasadena’s Art Center College of Design, who is inspired from his culture and personal experiences to find unique perspectives to explore.

Meibol Alejandra Moran, an Ecuadorian American artist and storyteller with a degree from Florida’s Ringling College of Art & Design, who is inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender, Naruto and Teen Titans.  

Mai-Han Nguyen, a Viet-American Visual Development artist, aiming to design beautiful worlds tailored to the stories that occupy them.  

Heather Patterson, a versatile advertising art director from Texas, based in LA with sharp creative thinking skills who wants to work on something with heart and humor.
