NürnbergMesse achieves record sales and invests in its future
NürnbergMesse closes the year of its 50th anniversary with a new sales record of around 360 million euros, significantly exceeding not only the regular comparable exhibition year 2022 with 257 million euros, but also the previous record of 315 million euros from the 2018 exhibition year. The NürnbergMesse Group's 140 events worldwide experienced strong demand, with a total of 33,900 exhibitors (previous year: 28,153) and 1.56 million visitors (previous year: 1.28 million) on a net area of 1.18 million square meters (previous year: 904,466).
Strong participation
“Our customers gave us our biggest birthday present for our 50th anniversary with their strong participation in our exhibitions, congresses and events, giving us the best year in our company's history to date!” says a delighted Peter Ottmann, CEO NürnbergMesse Group.
The new sales record in the anniversary year 2024 is the result of strong participation in NürnbergMesse's events both in Germany and abroad. For example, the two subsidiaries NürnbergMesse Brasil and NürnbergMesse China each posted their best corporate results.
Trade fairs with high international participation
A total of 71 events took place at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, where 23,800 exhibitors presented themselves to 930,000 visitors on a net exhibition space of 880,000 square meters. In particular, the own and partner events in the second half of the year, such as Fachpack (+26% exhibitors), Chillventa (+20% exhibitors) and it-sa (+33% visitors), sent out strong signals for their respective sectors. Against the backdrop of a persistently weaker economy in Germany, the trade fairs in Nuremberg benefited from their high international participation with a 51% share of international exhibitors. Overall, the own and partner events in Nuremberg recorded an increase of 15% in exhibitors, +19% in net exhibition space and +29% in visitors.
Outlook for 2025
The exhibition calendar for 2025 currently includes 140 events worldwide, 76 of which will be held in Nuremberg. New additions include Biofach America, Euroguss in Mexico, Construlev in Brazil and Interlift (AFAG) as a guest event. The world's leading trade fair for the elevator industry is organized by its long-standing partner AFAG, which now organizes ten guest trade fairs at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. The German Savings Banks Day, one of the largest economic and financial policy congresses in Europe, will also be held in Nuremberg for the first time on May 21/22.
Based on the positive number of registrations for the events in the first half of 2025, NürnbergMesse is optimistic about the new exhibition year and expects sales of around 350 million euros.
