PBS KIDS plans its first series with autistic characters

On behalf of PBS KIDS, Fuzzytown Productions and Spiffy Pictures are producing "Carl the Collector", the first series with characters living on the autism spectrum.

Premiere in 2024

The 2D animated series concept for four to eight-year-olds is set to premiere in fall 2024. It was developed by New Work Times bestselling author and illustrator Zachariah OHora.

40 episodes

PBS has initially released 40 episodes of 22 minutes each, animated by Canadian studio Yowza! Animation, while Spiffy Pictures co-founder Adam Rudman serves as lead writer on the scripts, with OHora executive producing.

Carl the Collector

Carl the Collector centers on an autistic raccoon who is smart and energetic, but struggles with anxiety in new situations and when things don't go according to plan. He has a huge collection of things that help him solve the problems of his friends, both on and off the spectrum.
