Peppa Pig's big birthday bash
The Peppa Pig brand is 20 years old and its little fans around the world can look forward to various highlights over the course of the year. Together with licensor Hasbro, Super RTL Licensing, the licensing agency responsible for the German-speaking region, is prominently showcasing the cute little pig and has acquired numerous new product partners for the brand. Under the motto "Peppa's Party", the title heroine is more present than ever in her anniversary year.
Promotions, campaigns and events
"Peppa's Party" includes retail promotions, marketing campaigns and even a specially created style guide so that pre-school children can recognize the birthday look of their favourite brand at various touchpoints throughout the year. At Easter, fans can meet their first best friend while shopping, as elaborate anniversary campaigns are planned in stores. In addition, the 10th season of the series about Peppa and her friends, including a wedding and party bus special, will start on free TV on Super RTL at Easter. It will also be available to watch on the channel's streaming portals and on RTL+. In addition, 104 new short episodes, the "Peppa Pig Tales", will be available on the brand's own YouTube channel.
Peppa Pig theme park opens at Whitsun
A special Peppa Pig theme park will be attracting particular attention from Whitsun: Merlin Entertainment, the world's leading provider of location-based entertainment, is opening it in cooperation with Hasbro in Günzburg, Bavaria, right next to Merlin's Legoland Deutschland Resort. The park offers a colorful mix of attractions, including several rides, interactive playscapes and shows based, for example, on well-known locations from Peppa's adventures.
Playing & living with Peppa Pig
In the toy sector, the range of Peppa-related products to be released in the first half of 2024 could not be greater. Master Toy Partner Hasbro presented Peppa's trailer and Grandpa Kläff's tow truck at the toy fair in Nuremberg at the end of January - and is thus turning popular themed worlds from the series into playsets. Simba Toys is launching a functional plush toy for "Peppa's Party", and Smoby is expanding its product line with a slide car and a painting table. Ravensburger is contributing puzzles to match the birthday theme, a range of bubbles is coming from Pustefix, and Undercover is scoring points with a brand new ride-on trolley, among other things.
Just in time for the anniversary, roba is offering Peppa fans a complete living environment: from the bed to the seating area to the shelves, everything is decorated with motifs of the little pig. There are also toys such as a push and learning bus, a high chair and a cradle for dolls. In addition, the manufacturers Fabrizio Bags and Santex Moden have been acquired as new licensees in the fashion and accessories sector. Deichmann is also launching a comprehensive shoe line in stores.
Publishing & Food with Peppa Pig
All existing publishers have extended their existing contracts with Hasbro and will continue to publish books, booklets and other formats relating to Peppa. New on board is Westermann with the well-known miniLÜK learning system including corresponding exercise books. Little bakers can let off steam in the kitchen thanks to the Dr. Oetker baking utensils from Zenker. Those who prefer ready-made snacks can now enjoy fruit slices and puffed balls, with which Healthy Kids is expanding its successful product line. This is just one example of the 70 or so existing licensees from various categories who are also launching new Peppa products this year and recharging the brand with fresh designs.
