Primark significantly increases sales with licensed products
Primark recorded significant growth in its licensed products compared to the previous year. A growing portfolio of brand partners, including Disney, Netflix, NFL and others, is helping to increase popularity with customers and therefore their spending.
Sales increased in both halves of the year: up 17% year-on-year to £4.2 billion in the first half and up 14% to £4.8 billion in the second half.
Sales in the UK increased by 11% year-on-year, driven by like-for-like growth of 10%, supported in particular by a new customer website which has now been online for over a year.
In Europe, sales increased by 18% year-on-year, with like-for-like growth of 8%, despite a weaker business performance at times due to atypical weather.
In the USA, total net sales increased by 24% compared to the previous year, which is attributable to the expansion of sales areas.
