Smart Cookie Games represents Rudi Hoffmann’s game portfolio

The rights and license agency Smart Cookie Games UG has been representing the program of the game designer Rudi Hoffmann, who died in 2008, since January 1, 2022. On behalf of Elisabeth Kaufmann, who owns the sole copyrights to Rudi Hoffmann’s games, Smart Cookie Games will be the contact for publishers.

“We are very happy about the trust that Ms. Kaufmann has placed in us. Rudi Hoffmann is still today one of the most renowned game designers in Germany. As with Alex Randolph’s inheritance rights, we will do our best to ensure that his games are published again,” says Michael Tschiggerl, Managing Partner of Smart Cookie Games. Only three games from the extensive work are excluded from the agreement („Café International“, „Halali“ aka „Tally Ho”, „Schatz in Sicht“ aka „Ahoi Treasures!“).

Rudi Hoffmann, born in Höxter in 1924, began inventing games in 1964 after working as a commercial artist and illustrator. With over 40 board and card games published by well-known publishers, Hoffmann is still one of the most creative German game designers, even 13 years after his death. Some of his games were recommended for Spiel des Jahres, as „Räuber und Gendarm“, „Janus“, „Maestro“, „Heuchel und Meuchel“, „Spiel der Türme“ (aka „Ramparts“) and „Minister“. His “Café International” received the Critics‘ Prize in 1989.
