Sony lays off 8% of global workforce

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the dismissal of around 900 employees in the PlayStation division. This figure corresponds to around 8% of the global workforce.

The layoffs affect employees in all regions, but primarily the London studio, which will be completely closed.

Jim Ryan, President and CEO of the division released in a statement via email: "After careful consideration and many leadership discussions over several months, it has become clear changes need to be made to continue to grow the business and develop the company.“
