Spain to host the 4th World Puzzle Championship

From September 17 to 22, 2024, Valladolid will host the largest international speed puzzle competition for the fourth time. The organizer expects over 3,000 participants from over 75 countries, many of whom have already registered for the major event, more than doubling the number of participants compared to last year. The event is organized by the World Jigsaw Puzzle Federation (WJPF). As in the previous year, Ravensburger is an exclusive partner and main sponsor of the event.

Unpublished puzzles

The renowned toy manufacturer and international market leader for jigsaw puzzles provides all the products used in the competitions as well as the prizes for the winners. The final rounds will even feature previously unpublished puzzles with 500 and 1,000 pieces. The competition puzzles will be available in the Ravensburger online store after the event until the end of the year and in brick-and-mortar stores from January 2025. The World Jigsaw Puzzle Championship 2022 has also been recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest puzzle event.

Major event

The world puzzle organization WJPF is hosting the fourth Puzzle World Championship in the "Cúpula del Milenio" (Millennium Cathedral) in Valladolid in collaboration with the city council. Around 1,200 puzzle fans from Germany, the USA, Spain, France, Brazil and 68 other countries have already registered for the major event in the individual category.

Largest puzzle competition worldwide according to Guinness World Records

For 50 years, Guinness World Records has been inspiring children and adults alike every year with top performances from all over the world. Now the international puzzle competition is also among the fascinating records. No wonder, because in 2022 the World Jigsaw Puzzle Championships counted 1,500 participants, 1,206 puzzles and 589,394 correctly assembled puzzle pieces. In April 2023, the event was therefore recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest jigsaw puzzle competition.
