Toy Business Forum - knowledge on stage at Spielwarenmesse
New products for the year, an overview of upcoming topics and endless inspiration – Spielwarenmesse (30 January to 3 February 2024) marks the start of the year for the international industry. The well-known lecture area in Hall 3A of the Nuremberg exhibition centre will provide the latest market knowledge and forward-looking food for thought. In the Toy Business Forum, speakers from a variety of disciplines will talk about trends in toys and the retail sector. Key topics include digitalisation, influencer marketing and artificial intelligence. In addition, the audience can look forward to exciting presentations on the highlight topic "Life's a Playground - Toys for Kidsters, Kidults & Co.". Due to the new sequence of days at Spielwarenmesse, the programme will run from Tuesday to Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm. Afterwards, exhibitors will present product portfolios and new products in 20-minute slots during Live on Stage.
Kidults with lots of potential
Playing adults are a target group with strong purchasing power that the industry needs to keep an eye on. The new highlight special "Life's a Playground - Toys for Kidsters, Kidults & Co.", in Hall 3A right next to the Toy Business Forum, opens up this world and shows suitable product examples. Six presentations will address the topic in the Toy Business Forum. In the keynote speech on Wednesday, Toan Nguyen, founder of Jung von Matt NERD in Hamburg, will introduce the Kidults target group and give an introduction to the pop culture of a new generation.
Fit for upcoming trends
In addition to new target groups, other factors such as trends, competition and changing customer needs will also determine the future of retail. On Tuesday, Stefan Nilsson from Stockholm, among others, will be presenting "Happy is the new black - Trends for 2024/2025", which will highlight the connection between the feeling of happiness and the purchase of things.
Be present online
Other key topics include digitalisation and online marketing. New promising opportunities for online and social media presences will be presented here.
New tools for artificial intelligence
Artificial intelligence, or AI for short, is increasingly finding its way into our everyday lives and is not stopping at the business world. While Marilyn Repp from the Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Handel from Berlin will present various application examples from the SME retail sector on Thursday, Christian Krömer will share his personal experiences afterwards.
