Toyland Toyshop closes Otley branch

After 70 years, Toyland Toyshop in Otley is closing its doors as the owners believe it is no longer profitable to continue trading.

Toyland Toyshop Otley announced that the last day of sales will be Sunday, March 2. The owners cited “the current economic climate, poor sales figures in 2024 and competition from online retailers” as reasons for the decision.

Business no longer economically viable

In a statement, the owners of Toyland Toyshop Otley said: “We are very sad that after 70 years as a toy store in Otley we have to close our doors as it is no longer economically viable for us to continue this business. Toyland Toyshop has been proud to offer a wide range of children's toys and games to the people of Otley and surrounding areas since 2014 and we would like to thank all the loyal customers who have supported us over the years”.

There will be a sale the week before the closure.
