ToysRus expects Indian to become one of their five largest markets

ToysRus, which has been operating in India since this year, expects the Indian market to be one of the company's five largest markets in four to five years. Stanley Silverstein, Chief Commercial Officer at WHP Global, made the following statement in the Business Standard:

"The Indian economy is more dynamic than many others. Our experience with toys is that there are very strong markets worldwide and ToysRus works as a brand in all regions".

According to Silverstein, the US-based toy retail chain operates in all regions and it is a matter of finding the right partner. He added that the company was satisfied and happy with its relationship with its partners Ace Turle and Flipkart.

With the opening of the second store of 12,000 square meters in Mumbai, ToysRus currently has two stores in India.  According to Nitin Chhabra, chief executive officer, Ace Turtle, a further 75 stores are to be opened in the country within three years.
