Universal’s park and resort: generating billions
According to an economic impact analysis commissioned by Universal's Destinations & Experiences Division, the studio's first theme park in the UK could contribute more than 63.2 billion US dollars to the country's economy over the next 20 years.
476 hectares of land
On more than 476 hectares of land near Bedfordshire in England, the company wants to build a combined theme park and resort with 500 rooms that will operate all year round.
20.000 jobs
According to the study, the theme park is expected to create 20,000 jobs during the construction phase and 8,000 once it is operational. The report forecasts an economic benefit of 44 billion US dollars in the first 20 years of the park and 17.8 billion US dollars in taxes for the British Treasury over the same period.
