Stand construction specifications
If you have not booked a complete stand package, the equipment and design of your stand area is entirely up to you. This is completely empty, even without stand walls. You can commission our ServicePartners or your own stand builder for your stand construction. Stand construction should take into account the character and appearance of the Spielwarenmesse as well as technical and safety specifications.
Spielwarenmesse eG checks stand plans submitted for stand constructions as a free service. For a stand area of 80 m² or more, unsolicited stand plans must be submitted to Spielwarenmesse eG by 30.11.2024 for official inspection. This does not affect Spielwarenmesse eG's right to request stand plans for examination.
Stand construction guidelines
These are the most common stand construction deficiencies complained about during set-up:
- Use of secondary fuses, safeties
- Fire safety of stand construction and decoration materials
- Building materials
- Meeting rooms and escape routes
- Exits and escape routes
In their design and presentation of exhibits, stands must ensure an open approach to customers and appropriate access for visitors. The proportion of the total length (of the sides of the stand facing the aisles) to be open must be at least the following in total:
- for row stands: 70%
- for corner stands: 50%
- for head/block stands: 25%
The minimum construction height is 2.50 m. The maximum construction height is 4.50 m. In the following halls, the maximum construction height is restricted as follows due to the hall architecture:
- Hall 10.1 max. 3.50 m
- Hall 11.1 max. 3.00 m
The backs of all construction elements of your stand that face a neighboring stand (e.g. stand walls, advertising media, banners, company logos, etc.) must be cleaned, white and visually flawless from a height of 2.50 m and may not contain any texts or graphics. If the rear walls are not laminated by 6 p.m. on Monday, this will be done by the organizer. The costs for this have to be paid by the exhibitor.
Texts and graphics on back walls are only permitted if the construction element has a minimum distance of 2.00 m to the neighboring stand.
Waste disposal
The City of Nuremberg has issued a by-law on waste management which governs waste prevention and waste sorting and is binding for exhibitors and organizers (see Technical regulations , 6.1).
- Waste during set-up, fair days and dismantling is to be avoided first and foremost (see Technical regulations, 6.1.1)
- Waste that is nevertheless generated during set-up and dismantling as well as during the exhibition period is covered by the waste disposal fee. This amounts to € 4.95 net per m² of stand space. For stand areas larger than 300 m², the waste disposal fee is € 4.95 net per m² for the first 300 m² and € 3.00 net per m² for all additional square meters.
- The disposal of exhibition stands is excluded from the waste disposal fee. Professional disposal of the trade fair stand after the trade fair has ended can be booked in the Online Service Center at a price of € 1,000 (charge if NOT registered: € 1,250).
- Disposable tableware (cutlery, plates, straws, stirrers) made of plastic is prohibited, as are disposable beverage cups and disposable polystyrene packaging (styrofoam).
→ Tip: Use your own crockery and glasses for serving guests at your stand!
