Information for Game designers

For you as an author, there will be a compact meeting place in NCC Mitte, Level 1 to exchange ideas about your games to come. Present your game prototypes to editors and publishers and set the course for your next game publication.

The 2025 event was fully booked. Registration for the International Game Inventors' Convention 2026 will begin in summer 2025.

What can you expect as a game designer?

Embedded in the international Spielwarenmesse network, this will be a place for game designers, publishers, editors and journalists to exchange ideas and information.
At the Game Inventors Convention, you’ll get to present your game ideas to specialists.
On site, you will be supported by:
- the long-standing experts of the International Game Inventors' Fair Haar, Christian Fürst-Brunner and Tom Werneck, of the Bayerisches Spielearchiv Haar e. V., for questions about game publishing.
- the Spielwarenmesse eG team for questions about the event or if you need organisational help.

Order of events for planning your stay

8:15 – 9 am Presentation table assembly

9 am – 6 pm Game Inventors Convention

6 – 10 pm GamingHour games party

What you should bring

Playable prototypes – one or more (up to three), it’s entirely up to you.
Friendliness and the ability to spark conversations with visitors
Plenty of business cards
Good humour

The Game Designer Portrait is your joker to attract game editors

Arouse curiosity with a short and crisp description of you game.
Approx. 5 sentences per prototype
Your prototype portrait is the core element for the preparation to the event of the game editors. Therefore, registration is only valid with a fully completed portrait.

Present your game ideas to international game publishing houses

Your registration is binding. Reservations and conditions are not permitted when registering.

The closing date for receipt of registrations is in December 2025.

You will receive your official confirmation of participation by e-mail from November 2025.

Participation fee

Participation package 1 / Prices TBD, (available from summer 2025): 1 person, 1 presentation table
This includes: access to the trade fair for one person, 1 presentation table (150x60cm) with chairs, Wi-Fi, listing on the Spielwarenmesse website and in the Game Inventors Guide (PDF) and participation in the GamingHour – the networking party.
Participation package 2 / Prices TBD, (available from summer 2025): 2 persons, 1 presentation table
This includes: access to the trade fair for two persons, 1 presentation table (150x60cm) with chairs, Wi-Fi, listing on the Spielwarenmesse website and in the Game Inventors Guide (PDF) and participation in the GamingHour - the networking party.
Participation package 3 / Prices TBD, (available from summer 2025): 1 person, double table
